10 Unique Fall Event Ideas

Cheddar Up, your party HQ, here with back to school event ideas, fall fundraiser ideas, fall event ideas and more to help you make the most of this busy, fun season. While we specialize in group management tools, we can also help you organize events in your own backyard.

Check out some of our unique ideas for fall, and how to use a Cheddar Up collection to make that happen. (All about collections here.)

Idea #1
Start a Birthday Grams tradition.

Kicking off as a back to school fundraiser, this one carries you through the year. It can be as simple as delivering a “telegram” with a message, or like this birthday box idea. And it’s not just for schools! You could do this with a scout troop, sports team, even among friends and colleagues.

Idea #2
Raise donations on National Nonprofit Day (August 17).

Pick a nonprofit that your group or organization can partner with. Have a give-a-thon, or sell products to support a cause.

Idea #3
Have a porch decorating contest.

Add a buy-in, and you’ve got a great neighborhood and HOA fundraiser. But we also love this idea for an annual mum sale: Ask everyone who purchases a mum to send a photo of their decorated porches. Winner gets a gift card! (Bonus: It doubles as marketing if they share the photos on social media and tag your organization.)

Idea #4
Launch a trail mix sale on National Trail Mix Day (August 31).

We love this play on a bake sale — and think it’s a perfect nutrient-packed sports team fundraiser. Offer a few different savory and sweet recipes (including some allergen-friendly), post them in your collection, and only make what you need!

Idea #5
Open an online spirit wear store for friends — just because.

Who says only schools and clubs can have custom T-shirts? Create your own “branded” and/or funny tees and take orders from your friends (or neighborhood, or rec league team, or you get the idea).

Idea #6
Host a progressive dinner for National Girls Night and the first day of fall (September 22).

Every stop has some kind of fall fare!

Idea #7
Organize a homecoming tailgate for a club or sports team.

And win “hoco”. Use a Cheddar Up collection to RSVP, fundraise for food and fixings, or have students pick a menu item ahead of time.

Idea #8
Treat teachers to a coffee cart for National Coffee Day (September 29).

Use a Cheddar Up collection as your menu, let teachers “preorder” their drinks, and deliver them day of. To make it a fundraiser: Set up the cart at open houses, PTO meetings, or parent-teacher conferences, and use our point-of-sale feature to scan credit cards. Another caffeinated idea? Have a ground-coffee drive and stock the teachers’ lounge.

Idea #9
Spoil your coaches on National Coaches Day (October 6).

Collect gift money and notes of appreciation.

Idea #10
Sell remaining book-sale inventory online for National Friends of Libraries Week (October 16–22).

Continue to bring people into the library with an in-person book sale, but use Cheddar Up to sell what’s left online. This would be a great school library fundraiser too!
