If you’re planning to host a golf tournament, one of the key components to ensure a successful event is streamlining your registration process. Cheddar Up is here to make it a breeze with easy-to-use sign-up forms! Today, we’re going to walk you through creating a golf tournament registration form with Cheddar Up.

How to create a golf tournament registration form in 5 minutes (or less)

Step 1

Sign Up for Cheddar Up

The first step towards creating your golf tournament registration form is to sign up for Cheddar Up. Create an account—it’s quick and easy…and free!

Step 2

Define Registration Information & Fees

Before diving in, it’s important to outline the information you need from your participants. Common data includes:

  • Full Name
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Handicap
  • Preferred Tee Time
  • Tournament Entry Fee

Step 3

Create the Form

After logging into your Cheddar Up account, click on the “Create a Collection” button on your dashboard. Name your collection something recognizable, like “Putts for Mutts.”

Then, complete the description with the following:

Event Details: Fill in the necessary details, such as the event name, location, and any special rules.

Refunds & Terms: The description is also the perfect place to state your refund policy and any other terms and conditions of your event.

Pro tip: You can select from 13 different question types – including a waiver with e-signature – to create your form.

Tournament Purpose:  If this is a registration form for a charity golf tournament, don’t forget to include information about the cause, too.

Add a banner to your collection to further customize it for your organization. Here are some freebies to get you started:

Using a phone? Tap and hold on the banner image and select “download”. On a computer? Right click on your mouse, and select “save image as…”.

Step 4

Add Payment

Cheddar Up makes handling payments a breeze! You can easily set a fixed entry fee for your tournament by going to the “Items” tab and clicking “Add Item.” Label it “Entry Fee,” set your price, and voila!

If you’d like to allow for additional donations, simply create another item called “Donation,” but instead of setting a fixed price, select the “Open Amount” option. This way, your attendees can contribute an amount they’re comfortable with, supporting your event even further.

Did you know?

Donations with an open amount can earn 2x as much as fixed amount donations!

Step 5

Go Live & Share

Once you’re happy with your collection, share it! Cheddar Up provides various ways to share your form – via a direct custom link, embedding it into your website, or sharing it on social media platforms. You can even create a custom QR code to include on banners.

Step 6

Track Registrations and Send Reminders

As registrations come in, you can track them on your Cheddar Up dashboard and use our built-in reports. You can see who has paid, their contact information, preferred tee times, and more. This makes it easy to stay organized and handle any issues that may arise.

Cheddar Up also enables you to automate reminders and notifications for your event. Send out reminders to your participants a day or two before the tournament, ensuring everyone stays informed and prepared. You can also use this feature to communicate any last-minute changes or updates.
