The Junior Auxiliary of Tangipahoa is a dedicated women’s organization that focuses on giving back to the local community, with a special emphasis on helping children. While an initial five-year commitment, many members, like Kasse Whatley, stay long past that point. When asked what motivated her to remain involved for so many years, Kasse shared that the organization offers more than just charitable work — it provides a space where friendships bloom into lifelong bonds, and meaningful connections are made while working toward shared goals.
To dive deeper into her experience, we met with Kasse, who has held various leadership roles within the Junior Auxiliary and consistently helps the organization tackle new projects.
Simplifying Collections for the Junior Auxiliary
Before using Cheddar Up, the Junior Auxiliary faced inefficiencies in managing their fundraising and membership dues. They were relying on PayPal, which involved too many steps and didn’t offer the robust tracking capabilities they needed. Kasse had experienced success with Cheddar Up while working with a PTO and decided to bring it over to the Junior Auxiliary, hoping to streamline processes and make fundraising easier.

Once Kasse introduced Cheddar Up, the organization quickly saw the benefits. Not only was it more user-friendly, but it also significantly simplified how they managed donations, membership dues, and fundraisers. One of the biggest game-changers for Kasse was the platform’s reporting capabilities. With detailed reports at her fingertips, Kasse could easily pull reports, track payments, and send updates to members — all in a few clicks. This eliminated the need for constant rework and allowed for seamless event management.
The flexibility of Cheddar Up’s collections was especially one of their signature events, Flamingo Bingo, where they raised $5,000 in the first year. By using Cheddar Up to handle ticket sales and donations, the chapter doubled their fundraising efforts, bringing in $10,000 the following year. Customizations, like bingo daubers, helped create a fun and engaging atmosphere, while simplifying event management.
Beyond Flamingo Bingo, the chapter organizes other impactful initiatives, Crown’s Closet, which collects essential items like toiletries, socks, undergarments, school supplies, and uniforms for those in need.
Thanks to Cheddar Up, the Junior Auxiliary of Tangipahoa can now manage all their financial transactions with ease, freeing up more time to focus on community service. Cheddar Up’s ease of use has been a game-changer for Kasse, who, by her own admission, is not a “tech expert”. One of her favorite features is the ability to replicate collections, making it easy for new quick set up for annual events from year to year.

With events like Flamingo Bingo bringing in increasing profits and other chapters taking note, Cheddar Up has become an invaluable tool in ensuring the continued success of this incredible women’s organization.
