Greenwood Elementary Streamlines Teacher Group Gifting with Cheddar Up

Greenwood Elementary Streamlines Teacher Group Gifting with Cheddar Up

At Greenwood Elementary, organizing holiday and end-of-year teacher group gifts is an important tradition. Families contribute together so each teacher receives one meaningful, collective gift instead of dozens of individual presents. But behind the scenes, managing the group gift and gift card distribution process was overwhelming. Volunteers had to collect funds, transfer large sums into a personal bank account, wait for withdrawals to clear, and then manually purchase and assign individual gift cards. Detailed email instructions were sent to teachers explaining how to create accounts and redeem their funds. As the program grew, so did the administrative burden. Jen had to coordinate the moving parts, while Katy quickly saw how heavy the process had become for a volunteer-led effort. The tradition mattered deeply. The way it was being managed simply was not sustainable.

What is a Changemaker? Impact Award for Nonprofits

Behind every thriving community is a changemaker organization making things happen. From a PTA modernizing school programs to a sports league expanding access for young athletes, to a nonprofit fighting for a local cause, changemakers are the engines of real progress. That’s why we created the Cheddar Up Changemakers program, an initiative designed to fund and spotlight organizations leading meaningful change.

He needed something that could handle all of it, but still be easy for families to use.

How Pittsburgh Northstars Simplified Payments

When Elaine Davis stepped up as treasurer of the Pittsburgh Northstars, she didn’t expect the role to be so involved. “The treasurer was leaving and nobody was stepping up… I said I would do it and did not realize how involved it was going to be,” she shared. Managing payments across multiple programs, levels, and timelines quickly became overwhelming. That’s when she turned to Cheddar Up. Recommended by other board members, it offered an easy way to create recurring payments for athlete assessments. Parents could “set it and forget it” at the start of the season and Cheddar Up handled the rest.

How Voyager K-8 PTO Boosted Fundraising with P2P

Before Cheddar Up, Voyager K-8 PTO was spread thin using multiple platforms for payments, registrations, and communication. Nothing was centralized, and it was difficult to keep everyone on the same page. Ansel wanted a single solution that could manage all the PTO’s needs and save time in the process. Cheddar Up quickly became their go-to for everything: payments, sign-ups, spirit wear sales, and events. Using QR codes and a central collection page, they made it easy for parents and staff to find exactly what they needed. Everything lived in one place, which simplified communication and boosted participation across all types of collections.

How the Ninety-Nines Simplified Dues and Boosted Fundraising

How the Ninety-Nines Simplified Dues and Boosted Fundraising

Before Cheddar Up, the Eastern New England Chapter of the Ninety-Nines relied on a mix of paper forms, checks, and manual record-keeping. Members had to print registration forms, find a stamp, mail everything in, and wait for confirmation. For Sue, who manages finances for both her chapter and section, this meant piles of paperwork and hours spent sorting through details. As part of an international network of women pilots, the Ninety-Nines are constantly on the move — hosting fly-ins, pancake breakfasts, luncheons, and outreach programs. Managing money and information efficiently became critical to keeping their chapter focused on what matters most: camaraderie, scholarships, and inspiring the next generation of pilots.
