Making Llamas (and Dreams) More Accessible
Hamilton County Llamas is a small, but passionate nonprofit in Hamilton County, Indiana. The all-volunteer organization leases llamas to youth so they can participate in 4-H fairs and national livestock shows, teaching suburban kids the joy of caring for animals without the responsibility of full ownership.
The organization began looking for a system that could simplify membership payments, manage accounts, and support their future goals, including fundraising and an online store.
“When I joined two years ago, everything was almost completely manual — we even had to mail in checks, and sometimes they got lost. In just two years, seeing how much easier things have become with Cheddar Up is really cool.”

For Shannon, who joined the board just a few months ago, Cheddar Up’s ease of use and potential for growth stand out. “I think there’s so much we could do with Cheddar Up, from fundraising to ticketing,” she says. “As we evolve as an organization, we’ll definitely be exploring more of its capabilities.”

Herding Llamas and Payments Just Got Easier
Hamilton County Llamas is growing and Cheddar Up is helping them keep up with the pace. With 50-60 llamas, a growing number of members, and an ambitious events schedule, having a reliable payment platform has been critical to their success.

Shannon agrees, adding, “For suburban kids, it’s an amazing way to get a taste of what it’s like to care for a farm and animals without having to own them or take on all the responsibility of raising livestock.
